Marissa Jepsen-Casey, 58, of Mount Prospect, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018, at home, following a 4 ½ year battle with breast cancer. Marissa was surrounded by family and friends.

Marissa was preceded in death by her father, Robert Jepsen, brothers Robert Jepsen Jr. and Clifford Jepsen.

Marissa is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, Ed Casey, mother Elaine Jepsen, her sisters Janet (the late Richard) Johnson, Joycelyn (the late Robert) Tarkington, Judith (David) Irmen, Sharon (James) O’Connell, and Elyse Kurzeja, brother-in-laws John (Marian) Casey, Pat (Mary Hage) Casey and sister-in-law Amy (Rick Paal) Casey-Paal.

Marissa is also survived by her 15 favorite nieces and nephews – Kenneth (Nicki) Johnson, Robert (Heidi) Johnson, Brandy (Ryan) Fuesting, Stacey (Matt) Dhom, Amanda (Matt) Winterrowd, Matt (Felicia) Irmen, Tina Irmen, Faith (Danny) Marshall, Clifford O’Connell, Rachel (Chase) Dowling, Branden Kurzeja, Kelli (Edward) Woo, Amanda Casey, Adam Casey and Matt Paal.

She is also survived by her 8 favorite grand-nieces and nephews, Melana and Samantha Johnson, Ella Fuesting, Zoey Dhom, Madison and Mackenzie Winterrowd, Morgan Irmen and Gary Perry, Jr.

Marissa worked in the steel industry for over 20 years and then worked as a veterinary technician for close to 10 years. She then devoted her time to her family, dear friends, varied and sundry hobbies, love of the outdoors, and philanthropic interests, including animal rescue and children’s ministry.

Marissa will dearly miss all of friends who were like family to her, the Friday night pottery group, the feline rescue groups, her South Park Church friends and Ed’s UOP work family.

Visitation Monday, February 12th from 4 to 8 pm at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mt. Prospect, IL.
